The refining industry is closely regulated by federal, state and county environmental agencies, including the US EPA, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and Dakota County Environmental Services. Not only are the emissions from the refinery strictly regulated, many operations and practices and our products must meet government requirements. Several thousand pages of federal and state rules and county ordinances govern the operation of a refinery. These requirements are reflected in the many permits which government agencies issue to FHR.
